Manchester International airport is 10 miles from the city centre. Using public transport you can catch a bus, train or tram (Metrolink) from the Airport Station, a walkway leads from all three terminals to the Airport Station. Metrolink will take you to St Peter’s Square which is at the side of The Midland Hotel, rail will take you to Piccadilly and Oxford Road Stations which are half a mile from The Midland Hotel or taxi’s are always available.
AIRPORT TRAMS (METROLINK)
If using public transport, the tram is the quickest and easiest method to reach The Midland Hotel. You will need to purchase a ticket from the machines on the platform before travelling, these machines take cards or cash. Cost for a single jouney into the centre of Manchester is £4.20 per person, the trams run every 12-15 mins. Leave the tram at St Peter’s Square which is directly in front of The Midland Hotel. Journey time is around 40 minutes.
TAXI OR CAR
A taxi rank is located outside the terminal buildings, in clear traffic it is around a 30 minute drive. Taxi’s at the aiport are all metered with fares at around £30.
GETTING AROUND MANCHESTER
Manchester is serviced by a free Metroshuttle bus which links the main train stations, car parks, shopping areas and hotel around the city centre running at least every ten minutes, the nearest stop is outside the Free Trade Hall, 150 metres from the front of The Midland Hotel.
